about
A New Nordic Agency
Copenhagen Artists is today proud to present itself as a Nordic Agency representing a wide range of international artists working exclusively in the field of classical music. Building on its existing reputation for furthering the careers of native artists, the Agency has expanded as a direct result of developing a close co-operation with several leading international artists agencies such as Askonas Holt and IMG. These organisations represent many famous musicians worldwide, and they have fully pledged their support for their best artists to be represented in Copenhagen Artists’ working area in the Nordic region, an area which the Agency knows well, and which it can serve best.
Building on many years experience in the music industry Copenhagen Artists’ staff has acquired a considerable knowledge of the international music scene and a unique personal understanding of what musicians look for and expect from such an agency. Its dedicated aim is to encourage the artists it represents to present their artistry to the Nordic public. Through its contacts in many countries Copenhagen Artists keeps itself abreast of all that is happening in the international music world, and is in a unique position to place this knowledge and expertise at the service both of the artists that it represents and the Nordic organisations in various countries with which it collaborates.
Copenhagen Artists presently works with conductors, soloists and chamber ensembles including such names as Julian Rachlin, Tasmin Little, Maxim Rysanov, Mischa Maisky, Emmanuel Pahud, Karl Leister and the Borodin, Belcea and Henschel Quartets. At the same time it is interested to widen this representation to include singers and orchestras. Copenhagen Artists is very proud of its existing roster of represented artists and constantly looks for further opportunities to introduce them as well as new artists to the classical environment in the Nordic region.
As an important part of its expansion in activities Copenhagen Artists is currently engaged on two major projects, namely Nordic Concerts and the Malko Competition. Nordic Concerts is an imaginative initiative designed to bring the world’s most famous international orchestras, conductors and soloists on tour to the Nordic region. Under this scheme orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam and the London Symphony Orchestra appear in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and other cities giving concerts which are arranged by Copenhagen Artists in collaboration with the concert planners and concert halls in those cities.

The Malko Competition is one of Denmark’s most prestigious artistic projects. It was founded in memory of the distinguished Russian maestro Nicolai Malko, who conducted the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for 25 years from 1930–55. Since his death in 1961 the competition established in his name has been held every three years and has become one of the most important and highly respected of its kind in Europe. Copenhagen Artists is now responsible for the organisation of this event.
